The orginal team kit was pink, but that was quickly replaced with a black & white striped shirt. In 1907 Boca faced a team with the same shirt design, they played to decide who should keep their colours and Boca lost. Todays kit was born, initially it was a blue gold shirt with a yellow diagnoal band, that is now a horizontal band.
Famous names to play for Boca Juniors over the years include Argentinian legend Diego Maradona. Carlos Fernando Navarro Montoya managed to play in 180 straight matches. More recent names include Gabriel Batistuta, Kily Gonzlez, Juan Sebastin Vern and Martn Palermo.
