Boca Juniors play in the Argentine football league. Their homeground is the Bombonera stadium, 805 Brandsen street in La Boca, Buenos Aires.
Club Atltico Boca have won the Argentine professional championships twenty times and have five Copa Libertadores titles with three Intercontinental Cups to their name.
It all started in 1905 when five italian immigrants the team. Bocas first match was against Mariano Moreno on the 6th of May. It wasnt until 1931 the Juniors played their first professional game against Chacarita Juniors.
Boca have never been relegated from the top flight of Argentine football. The initially played in local leagues and then the amateur second division until Club Atltico Boca were promoted to the top division in 1913, when professionalism was introduced in Argentina, Boca won the first league title.
The orginal team kit was pink, but that was quickly replaced with a black & white striped shirt. In 1907 Boca faced a team with the same shirt design, they played to decide who should keep their colours and Boca lost. Todays kit was born, initially it was a blue gold shirt with a yellow diagnoal band, that is now a horizontal band.
Famous names to play for Boca Juniors over the years include Argentinian legend Diego Maradona. Carlos Fernando Navarro Montoya managed to play in 180 straight matches. More recent names include Gabriel Batistuta, Kily Gonzlez, Juan Sebastin Vern and Martn Palermo.
