AFC Bournemouth were formed in 1899, the South Coast club play their home games in the 10,700 capacity Fitness First Stadium also known as Dean Court, in Kings Park, Boscombe, Bournemouth, Dorset.
Bournemouth play their home games in red and black striped shirts with black shorts and socks. The shirt has led to the club's nickname of the Cherries. The Bournemouth kit has never featured in the top flight but has been pulled on by some well known names in the game such as: George Best who made a brief appearance in 1983, Luther Blissett in between his times at Watford and Jamie Redknapp who started his career at the club whilst his father was Manager.
