Dimitar Berbatov is a Bulgarian footballer who plays for Fulham and he is regarded as being one of the best Bulgarian footballers of all time. Having previously played for Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Sofia Berbatov is most notably known for his finishing and scoring abilities and his Fulham and Manchester United player shirt has been one of the best sellers in recent years.
Dimitar Berbatov was born in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria on January 30th 1981, he is a Bulgarian international footballer and currently play in London, England for Tottenham Hot Spurs. Dimitar started playing at local team Pirin, before moving onto CSKA Sofia where he won the Bulgarian Cup in 1999. In 2000 Berbatov moved to German side Bayer Leverkusen, whilst there Bayer finished as runners up in the Bundesliga and the Champions League where they lost to 2-1 in the final to Real Madrid at Hampden Park, Glasgow, Scotland.
Berbatov's first appearance in a Bulgarian shirt was as an eighteen year old in November 2005 when they played against Greece. He has since scored over 30 goals for the national side, in qualification for Euro 2004, Berbo scored 5 times in 6 games. He became the most expensive Bulgarian player in history when Berbatov moved to Tottenham Hot Spurs, the London club paid £10.9 million to Bayer Leverkusen. Dimitar scored twice in two minutes in his first domestic appearance for debut for Tottenham against Birmingham in a pre-season fixture. Berbatov went on to score his first Premiership goal 7 minutes into his home debut against Sheffield United August 22nd 2006.
