Darren Bent England kit
Darren Bent is an English football player born in Tooting London on the 6th February 1984. He currently plays for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier league. He is also a member of the England squad, having been called up during the 2006 World Cup qualifiers, but made his first appearance in a friendly against Denmark in 2005.
Bent started his professional career at Ipswich Town in 2001, progressing out of the Youth Academy, where his high point was an appearance in the 2001 FA Youth Cup semi-finals. Bent made 122 appearances for Ipswich and scored 47 goals, leaving them in 2005 when he joined Charlton Athletic. His debut month saw him claim the Premiership player of the month and he went on to score 31 goals in 68 appearances for the club. His latest move to Tottenham was signed in June 2007 for a reported fee of £16.54 million, a club record.
Darren has represented England at both Under 19 where he scored 8 goals in 12 games, and Under 21 where he scored 9 goals in 14 appearances. His full International career has yet to reach these heights and by June 2007 he had played 2 games without scoring any goals.
