Barnsley Football Club wear red home shirts with white trim and are currently manufactured by Puma, which have produced their kits since the 2015/16 season. The Barnsley kit history had involved several kit makers like Lotto, Surridge, Jako, Koala, Red Flag, Admiral, Nike and Umbro. Barnsley hold the record for the most number of seasons spent at the second level of English football than any other team.

Barnsley 23/24 Kits

Barnsley 23/24 Home Kit

Barnsley’s 2023/24 Puma home shirt was made in collaboration with Kid Super designer Colm Dillane. Inspired by the 1989/90 home, the kit had a red to white gradient finish and red trims on the white polo collar and sleeve cuffs. But the biggest influence of the classic shirt on the modern one was the presence of the white stars, starting with a couple of small ones around the shoulders and culminating into two big ones right at the chest. The kit was also one of the few for the season to have a central placement for its logos.

Barnsley 23/24 Away Kit

Barnsley’s 2023/24 Puma away shirt had the same design flow as the home. It had the central placement for the logos, red-trimmed white sleeve cuffs and polo collar, and star graphics, which in this case were light grey. The shirt, however, did not have a gradient base finish and instead opted for a clean plain white colourway.

Barnsley Home 2022/23 KitBarnsley kept it plain and simple for their 2022/23 Puma home. It sported the clean red base across the body and sleeves, leaving the round collar and sleeve cuffs to carry the kit’s traditional white trims. However, both the collar and sleeve cuffs featured an offset red pinstriping that ran parallel to their edges.

Barnsley Away 2022/23 KitBarnsley’s 2022/23 Puma away shirt was predominantly black and had one of the brand’s template design in full effect. The said design featured a combination of a striping pattern and repeating zigzag lines, with both diagonally oriented. Touches of white did come out due to the gradient finish across the middle of each stripe. Solid fill on the round collar and sleeve cuffs completed the look of the kit.

Nicknamed the Tykes, Barnsley are a football team based in South Yorkshire, they were formed in 1892. Barnsley play at the 23,009 Oakwell Stadium. They finally reached the English top-flight in its 1997/98 campaign, but was immediately relegated at the end of the season.

Barnsley’s greatest times were early on, reaching their first FA Cup final in 1910 losing to Newcastle United and but winning the cup in 1912, beating West Brom. Reaching the Premiership in 1997 was also a massive achievement, an unsuitable one though as Barnsley were relegated after just one season and subsequently spent time going up and down the lower divisions.

Barnsley have worn a red home shirt for over a century where it was first seen in the late 19th century. Before that though they used a blue and white shirt as well as a brown and white shirt.
