Banfield Football
Banfield (Club Atletico) is a professional Argentine football club. It was founded in 1896 and currently plays in the Primera División Argentina. It was named after Edward Banfield the first General Manager of the British-owned Buenos Aires Great Southern Railway between 1865 and 1872. Banfield (Club Atletico) has never won the Primera Division Argentina but has won 6 2nd Division titles and only 1 cup Buenos Aires Municipality Honour Cup(1920).
Banfield made the quarter finals of the Copa Libertadores in 2005 and were knocked out of the group stage in 2007 they also played in the 2005 Copa Sudamericana in which they were knocked out in the first round. Banfield play at the Estadio Florencio Solá it has a capacity of 33000. The team colours are green and white.
