Ajax Football
Ajax football club has origins from 1893 when a small group of friends Han Dade, Carel Reeser and Floris Stempel founded a small football club. They first called the club ´Union´, but in 1894 they changed this to ´Footh-Ball Club Ajax´, Ajax was officially founded in 1900. The full name of the club is Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax. Ajax play their home games at the Amsterdam ArenA, in Amsterdam.
The club is well-known around the world with its recognizable white with a single red stripe home jersey.
Ajax is also well known for their youth programs and has introduced some great professional footballers to the wider world in players like Johan Cruijff, Rudd Guillt and Marco van Basten. It also has a feeder club Ajax Cape Town of South Africa where the players of the future are developed.
