San Francisco 49ers Football
The San Francisco 49ers started to play American Football in 1946, as members of the then All America Football Conference. The 49ers play in the Western Division of the National Football Conference. They were the first team to five Super Bowl victories and have never lost the big game when they have reached Natinal Football League's showpiece event.
They were the first professional major league sports franchise to be based in San Francisco, and one of the first professional sports teams on the West Coast. During the 1980s and 1990s the 49ers had one of the greatest ever NFL teams with the likes of the Jerry Rice, Joe Montana and Steve Young featuring.
On the San Francisco shirt the logo started out as a mustached 49er gold miner from the Gold Rush, dressed in overalls and a red shirt, jumping in midair, and fired pistols in each hand. The 49ers current logo is an intertwined white 'SF' with black border in the center of a red oval with a black border.
San Francisco's uniform is gold helmets & beige-gold pants, with either scarlet red or white jerseys. The red home jersey has white block numbers, three white parallel stripes on the sleeves, & smaller white block numbers above the stripes on the sleeve.
